IQS002 - 2 Gang Multi-Way Standard Dimming Varilight Slave in a White Plastic Finish (use In Conjunction only with Any Touch/Remote Products).
The Varilight Dimming Slaves can be used in conjunction with any of the Touch/Remote Dimmers for 2-way circuits (i.e.: Touch/Remote Dimmer and 1 Slave) or multi-way circuits (i.e.: Touch/Remote Dimmer and more than 1 slave/as many slaves as needed). All Varilight products are designed to meet the latest European Safety Legislation. Slave dimmers will not function on their own, they are to be used with master dimmer light switches only.
Dim these products by touch or alternatively using a remote control (Product code YRC8 - on this website) or use your tv / dvd / sky button to control your lights and they will operate from approximately 50 feet away.
To do this choose a button that is unused (or performs no function) then follow the instructions given in the leaflet provided with the dimmer, a good example would be the -/-- button or the coloured teletext buttons.
As a brief description of controlling this dimmer (within the master and slave scenario, as this slave will not operate on its own) and the remote control; you would: touch the button once for the lights to go off or on. Simply hold your finger over the switch or the remote control button and the lights will dim from 100% to 2% and back up again. Simply remove your finger at any point, say 40% brightness and your lights will be held dimming at this percentage. Turn off at this example 40% and next time you turn on again you lights will come on at 40%, hold to 100% to return to full lighting (And repeat the cycle as required), please note dimming your lights will save you energy, so if you don't need full brightness, reduce your power and reduce your carbon footprint. Also note the soft start function will extend bulb life as the energy doesn't rush to the bulb as a flick switch would, but softly illuminates over approximately 2 seconds.
Please note this is a direct replacement for most light circuits and we have swapped switches in our office in less than 2 minutes, to 'learn' from a remote, is also just as simple and can be completed in around 10 seconds.
The Touch and Remote control dimmers are suitable for 1-way circuits, and when used in a combination with 1 or more of our touch control Dimming Slaves, they enable you to dim the same lights from 2 or more switch locations in a 2-way or multi-way circuit.
The touch/Remote Dimmer can be used for mains incandescent GLS lamps (standard mains light bulbs), maximum load as specified on dimmer. It can also dim GU10 or similar Hi Spot Mains Halogen lamps (only use quality UK supplied lamps) maximum load as specified on dimmer (Please ensure your light circuit is dimmable).
If you are using the dimmer with quality low voltage transformers such as Varilight low voltage transformers (product codes: YT70, YT105, YT150, YT250), you can control them up to maximum load as specified on the dimmer.
